Huawei Symantec Spider

Description:
The Huaweisymantecspider originates from China. The IP addresses below starting with 62. are UK addresses owned by "Opal Telecommunications Internet Service Provider". I found those in the log files only end of November, but remember that I blocked the IP addresses for the China Cache a while ago. Those addresses didn't mention "spider" in the userAgent.
As I couldn't find any information in regard to the purpose of the crawl I did send an email to the address I found in the userAgent string. First I got an autoreply in Chinese and later a personal email with the URL I've posted above.
Here a quote from that webpage: "2. What's the benefit for my website from HuaweiSymantecSpider? If malicious code is found in your webpage, all HuaweiSymantec gateway devices which deployed globally will block the malicious link access, so that your customers can be pretected from infecting malicious code. Meanwhile, we will try to contact you and we could provide technical support to help you remove the malicious code from your website."
As we don't have any malicious code on our clients websites I disallow this bot. If you use Google's Webmaster Tools and have a sitemap submitted you would have found a notice about any Malware found in your code. Login to your Google Account for Webmaster Tools and check it out. Follow the link DIAGNOSTICS - then Malware. Normally you should see this; "Google has not detected any malware on this site."
